Getting all my comics by mail now as the nearest comic shop is five hours away, so it will be a month or so before I get to read this. Looking forward to it though.
Comment by CraigM 08.16.12 @ 12:59 amHello JH, been really excited about #12 ever since you put the cover up. Just read it and was literally grinning from ear to ear the entire time. Really good story and your art was peerless. Thank you 😉
Comment by David Rand 08.16.12 @ 1:12 pmHey, J3, I’m lovin’ the newest book! I don’t know about any printing errors but I was curious about why the ‘eye the color of fallen leaves’ was more like the color of sky. 😉
As always, the art is gorgeous. Can’t wait to see what happens next!
Hey Ash
Thats a good catch. I think I was so caught up in how cool Dave made the color of that eye look, I didn’t think about it matching the line. We’ll chalk it up to some exotic colored plant leaf, since it’s obviously some strange far off location. How’s that sound?
Amazing issue. Practically salivated over the detailed layouts and LOVED Bones’ beachwear. Curious about the Sister of Sappho reference though.
Comment by Suzanne 08.18.12 @ 5:55 amOoo… exotic plant leaf. 😀
I made peace with it by imagining the eye goes all cuddle-fish when it’s stabbed. Blue means pain. Lmao.
Hi Mr. Williams,
I’m a fan of your work all the way from India. Dying to read Batwoman 13 but before that 0! This is the best new DC 52 title out in the market. Keep up the gr8 work!

Comment by Ian 08.20.12 @ 7:30 amHello Ian
Thank you very much. But I should mention the new storyline just started this month, Batwoman 12.
I love your work, Batwoman is easily my favorite title in the new 52, the artwork is like nothing I’ve ever seen in a comic book before, absolutely stunning, majestic, gothic, macarbre, such attention to detail, I pour over each issue.
Your Wonder Woman is also blowing me away. Diana is my favorite super hero and your portrayal of her is exquisite. Her internal monologue poetic and sensuous. I’d love to see you do more Wonder Woman. Can’t wait for the next team up issue.
Hello Mat
Thanks very much, and I’m super thrilled you like our take on Diana so far.
Hi Jim, I’m really enjoying your take on Wonder Woman!, I’ve been waiting quite a while to see it!. The scene of Diana washing off her enemies blood while her internal dialogue made it clear that what she cherishes most of all was to feel truly human was quite quite memorable. I see you’ve taken quite a different approach in rendering Diana, with no shadows at all when all else is more fully shaded and I’m looking forward to seeing the effect of a full figure shot of Diana against Kate in all her glorious shiny blackness. It should be quite a striking contrast and I’m looking forward to seeing whether, as I expect, it makes Diana a focal point of the page and a kind of larger than life figure in a darker world.
Comment by Karl 08.23.12 @ 12:17 pmHey there Karl
Thanks, I’m glad you like the take we have. As I know you’re a very big WW fan. Sorry I’ve not had the chance to get back to your email inquiries. Been working tons, and we’ve been planning our 20th anniversary for this October, sort of a re-do wedding event.
It is excellent, good to see you back on the drawings! Can’t wait for the next issue!
