Pam
Wow. That was fast. Yes, you’re correct, contest over already. I’ll have to come up with something harder next time.

damn too late !

I must say it was pretty hard to find for me, I don’t even imagine something harder !

the way “fear” is hidden , is great, really!
“revenge” was the hardest, even if right now I see it each time I look at the picture .

Is that something you already did on other pages before ?

It just so happens that image is probably my favorite pages in the new issue.

I love the split upper / lower and the story within a story.

Simply gorgeous.

Hey there ced
that was the first time I’ve done that, in this title anyway.

Just sent it my addy.

Thanks in advance.

Question, if I may?

Why did you decide to hide those words? And how did you pick the words themselves?

Comment by Pam 07.31.09 @ 12:14 pm

I did it for placing subliminal intention into the image representing vague emotional aspects of what the visions mean and feel like and intentions towards the future plot. I hope that makes. It’s a mild metaphysics thing. The word choices are based on the same notions I just stated.

WOw, I thought I saw ‘cry’ up on Batman’s left, too.

My jaw dropped when I hit this spread.

When I returned to it I went very slowly down and across and I couldn’t believe the sheer detail packed into it- every time I reaccessed it I found something new I hadn’t noticed.
Seeing it without the color is great; I still hadn’t picked up on ‘revenge’ nor ‘fear’ until it was pointed out, very cool.

The whole issue was unbelievable.

This is, hands down, my favorite comic book spread in a long time. In fact, I showed this to my mother, an artist but not a comic book fan, as proof of how wonderful comic book art can be and how effective the art itself can be in telling the story. She was as impressed as I am. Love the hidden words, which I found before reading this blog! Amazing work.

I just picked up my issue of Detective comics 855 yesterday and Wow!

When I got to this page, I just stopped and tried to take it all in. There is so much there, layer upon layer of story. This page alone gave me huge insight into the Batwoman character.

By far this is my favorite page of the year.

Amazing work. Keep it up.
