Nice greyscale work. This is the type of thing that I would like to see more of here.
And I guess this answers when your issue of Hex will ship.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing the process! I love this stuff. Can’t wait to hear what your next project is! Hopefully soon?

That was a nice interview that oddly enough tied in with this (post which was probably your intention). I can’t wait for this issue and the “secret” project. I love seeing the underpinnings of some of my favorite artist’s work and with stuff like this and the DJ pages you scanned awhile back, it’s truly a treat.

thanks austin. glad you like the interview. there is going be a 3rd part to it. so check that out when it goes up. as for the cover process art. that is something i’ve been meaning to do more of for awhile. i’m probably going to show crossing midnight covers in stages as well. particularly because some of them went through various color changes and color treatments for the design text. it might be interesting to some to see those variant ideas for color. i recently did a cover that i actually did i think maybe 12 versions of the color for the design aspects and text portions of the cover. so that stuff might be interesting for thought process. i dunno.

hi jwh3

love your work! i also happen to be a big Dwight Yoakam fan… is he your model for Hex on this cover? either way looking forward to the finished piece…

hey there meng
sorry for the delayed reply. i was out of town for a bit and then i’ve been down for the count with some illness. so things get on the back burner. as for modeling hex after dwight yoakum…that’s a negative. i imagined his features and based him on no one.
