Wednesday December 14th 2011, 2:22 amThe final volume of Absolute Promethea (vol. 3) will also be out this week. This Absolute project turned into a three year publishing plan, and I think plenty of Promethea fans will be happy with this final edition. We tried our best to get everything Promethea into these 3 Absolute editions. And for volume 3 we’ve got some cool extras and features, such as the Little Margie stories by Eric Shanower (whose written the introduction this time as well), other Promethea appearances from other America’s Best Comics titles, some art galleries (some of it production materials), an article written by me on some of the process images displayed. And finally, the infamous issue 32 poster version, done as a double sided folded insert that can be removed at your discretion, reproduced at much larger size than the previous trade editions. And in benefit of including the poster, we’ve reprinted the article on the process of creating it written by Todd Klein. Below is the gold color slipcase art for this edition…

I think we got it all in there for the most part. The only thing that I had tried to get was for issue 12 in volume one to be a fold out. But the budget just wasn’t there. Too bad, because it really would’ve showcased the panorama of the whole thing, to be seen as we envisioned it.
yeah, PRomethea #12 is a fantastic issue. I think I bought about 5 issues of that! But it was worth it for getting a page of Promethea artwork! Wonder if Mick still has the photos…

Comment by Alex 12.16.11 @ 6:36 pmGot my Absolute Promethea yesterday and was stunned by the amount of extras in it! Unfortunately, there was a printing error in it where a pieceof paper was not cut off at the bottom corner and also, the two pages are joined together, so I’ll have to exchange it 🙁

It might be possible for you to trim it yourself, very carefully. That could save hassles from where you ordered it.
Yeah, But I would be scared of damaging it!!. I got it from my mail order guy, so I can get a replacement from diamond.
This week, I received a copy of the X-Statix omnibus from Amazon.com(because it was cheaper to buy in America than here) and the top corners were all bent in as were was the dustjacket. When customer service said they were going to send me a new one, they wanted to send the damaged one back(instead of sending it to amazon.co.uk) but it weighs 7.8 lbs!! So in the end they said keep the damaged one and we will still send a new one!

Mine’s at my Mail order comic store so hopefully I should get mine next week (along with Collectibly Mad signed by Bill Gaines!!!)
My question is: Is there anything that you wanted to put in the Absolute volumes that you could not?
Also, will there ever be a Promethea Tarot card set?
