Wednesday February 15th 2012, 12:50 pmThere really isn’t anything to write about today. We had to let Tabitha go this morning. She’s with all of the other animal spirits now. Below is a couple photos from happier times.

My deepest condolences. May she rest in peace and live forever in the love in your hearts.

I just recently lost my cat, had her since I was 6. It’s still weird not to have her around.
Comment by Winterbourne 02.15.12 @ 10:46 pmMr. W, I’m so sorry. Just lost one of my pet birds of 16 years last month. I hope he and Tabby are playing together somewhere over the Rainbow Bridge. This poem helped me feel better…maybe it will help you too?

Comment by SoldierHawk 02.15.12 @ 11:14 pmSorry for your loss . I’ve lost my soul sister ( a female cat called Darwin ) 6 months ago and the pain is still strong .My thoughts are with you in this tough moment .

Hello Winterbourne
Thank you, and sorry that you too have lost your cat. And yeah, it never feels right when they’re not here anymore. They have bigger impacts in our lives than we realize sometimes.
Hey there SoliderHawk
Thank you. And so sorry to hear about your bird. I love birds, too. But with our cats, we can’t have one here, plus I’m allergic unfortunately. But I’d love to be able have a bird as my friend.
And that was a very lovely poem, thank you. It brought tears to my eyes. But yeah, I believe our spirits will be rejoined. I feel they come into our lives for a reason.
Comment by jhw3 02.16.12 @ 1:50 pmHello there Yann
Thank you very much, and sorry that you lost your Darwin too. Before losing Tabitha, we had lost another cat years ago. That too, was extremely hard on us. And the pain of it does come up whenever we think of him. His name was Baby, and we still miss him. So we understand very much what you’re still experiencing, and probably always will, it is not an easy thing. They come into our lives with nothing but love for us, and offer friendships that last forever in our hearts.
Hi Jim–
I’m so sorry to hear about Tabitha. I lost my dog Maya about a year ago–she had gotten old and developed a pretty serious seizure disorder–and was just flattened by it. Getting a new dog 8 months later helped, but it’s never the same. He’s someone new to love, but I still love Maya, too.
Nonetheless, I’m sure Tabitha knew how much she meant to you, and I hope that when the pain subsides, you’ll find someone new to love and to sit beside you while you work. My dog Deoji is here all the time, as is cat Skinny, and when frustrations grab me and I feel like I’m wasting my life, I just look around me and see the people and pets I love, and I know that I’m not wasting anything with them around.
My best to you and Wendy and Tabitha.
Matt
Comment by Matthew Southworth 02.16.12 @ 8:20 pmHey there Matt
Thank you for sharing your kind thoughts with us. And sorry about Maya. But you’re right, other little friends come into our lives to bring out an extension of our love for them. We have some other cats too, that have been with us for awhile now, Sammy, Bhangra, and Phoebe. Sammy now being the oldest. All of the cats we’ve had living with us have all been rescues. Either abandoned or the family they were with couldn’t take care of them. So knowing we can give them a good home does lighten our hearts. Bhangra seems to be missing Tabitha as well. He looks for her in the places she liked the most. Although we have love to give them, they each have their own unique energy that they bring to the house, and Tabitha’s passing has caused things to unbalance a bit. We all need some time to find a new balance.
